Skinny
Several Northern Region coaches point to Madison as a team that could be a major factor. The Warhawks bring back Henshaw and LeDuc, who turned in a big postseason performance last season to knock out Fairfax in the district tournament. . . . Stone Bridge graduated three of its top four scorers, but return Tiernan, an athletic force and soccer star who averaged 16.7 points and could propel the Bulldogs back to the top of the district. . . . Fairfax is led by McNaughton, a UMBC recruit who averaged 15.6 points per game last season. Sophomores Kylie Murphree, Taylor Intermill and Christina Williams will help the Rebels challenge for a district title. . . . McLean (12-11) features Murphy, who averaged 8.8 points per game last season. One rival coach said he was especially impressed with Murphy’s improvement this summer. . . . Keep an eye on South Lakes (9-13), which features 5-10 junior guard/forward Gabrielle Schultz.
