D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association champions Theodore Roosevelt loses its top four scorers from last year but returns two starters: 6-3 sophomore guard-forward Jarrell Allen and 6-1 senior guard Antone James. Glover transfers in from Douglass, where he was its leading scorer with 17.4 ppg .. . . Coolidge could contend with the Rough Riders with its two college prospects, leading scorer Cumberlander (Central Connecticut State) and Jeffers (Delaware).. . .

Coaches say Spingarn, which lost to Theodore Roosevelt on a buzz-beater in the DCIAA semifinals, will field a strong team. West, who was at C.H. Flowers last year but didn’t play because of grades, is expected to be a top newcomer. Senior guard Rockell Le-Vaughn (14.5 ppg) is the Green Wave’s top returning scorer .. . . Cesar Chavez and Friendship Collegiate should be competitive among the charters schools. . . .

Washington Latin, a charter school, will play its first full varsity schedule this winter, and will be led by 6-4 senior forward Thurman Anderson, the team’s leading scorer and rebounder.

James Wagner joined the Post in August 2010 and, prior to covering the Nationals, covered high school sports across the region.
