The Maryland Terrapins men’s rugby team went 2-4 overall at the nationally televised USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championship over the weekend at PPL Park in Philadelphia, notching both of its wins in Sunday’s losers bracket before losing to Florida, 20-14, in the finals of the losers bracket. Maryland’s wins came against Penn State and Oklahoma, while it lost to Florida (twice), Delaware and eventual champion Dartmouth.
Maryland’s Trevor Tanifum, a senior wing/fullback from England, led the entire 16-team tournament, which was televised by NBC, with 10 tries.
