Most want to keep Redskins’ name
Two-thirds of Washingtonians oppose changing the Redskins’ name, even as most see the term as “inappropriate.” However, few other than the most ardent fans say they would be any more or less of a fan if the team had a new name. Read related article.
This Washington Post poll was conducted by telephone June 19 to 23, among a random sample of 1,106 Washington area adults. Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish on landline and cellular phones. The results for the full poll have an error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points; it is six points among Redskins fans.
