Despite his loss in the Kentucky Debry, Bodemeister is the favorite in the Preakness. He ran a very fast race at the Derby, reaching the half-mile marker in 45.4 seconds, but lost it in the last stretch. The Derby was just the fifth race in his career.

The sun hits the grandstand at Pimlico. The main grandstand can seat nearly 5,700 people, while the entire complex normally accommodates more than 14,000 racing enthusiasts. But for the Preakness, the capacity swells to nearly 95,000, as additional seating and standing room spaces are added.
