D.C.-area native Stephanie Merry joined The Washington Post in 2008 as the Going Out Guru specializing in local theater and arts. She studied poetry writing at the University of Virginia before getting her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. When she isn’t taking in the latest from area theater companies or spending time with the impressionists at the National Gallery, she writes movie reviews for the Weekend section.
