EXPERIENCE: Required: MS or equivalent degree in engineering, physics, math, computer science, or related fields. At least 10 years of professional experience with some experience in Information Assurance, Information Operations, or related field. Demonstrated thought leadership in developing breakthrough solutions to challenging technical problems. Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work as a member of a multi-organization technical team. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Significant exposure to US Government work and extensive familiarity with the national security and intelligence communities.

JOB_DESCRIPTION: Technical lead providing strategic and tactical guidance for the integration of new computer network defense systems to protect and defend the .gov domain. Assist DHS in implementing IT infrastructure development projects that include: intrusion detection and response, governance development, process planning, security engineering, and project planning. Use systems engineering methodologies and IT industry best practices to assist in development of IT solutions and to guide large sponsor IT programs. Work with DHS sponsor to review and enhance the Einstein system design and implementation plan. Produce actionable system development, acquisition, and roll-out plans that account for existing technical constraints, related IC systems available for transition, and other programmatic considerations. Establish and maintain a position of technical leadership and trust with the sponsor, sponsor's contractors and program representatives. Lead the APL System Engineering team for the Einstein SE task for DHS. Review all SE deliverables to assure quality, timeliness, and relevance to the sponsors needs. Delegate and track work products associated with system engineering for Einstein. Conduct comprehensive evaluation of system and software development strategies, architectures, designs, and integration plans. Recommend changes at all levels (policy, programmatic, strategy, design, technologies). Serve as the DHS Einstein senior system engineering lead.
