GDIT is looking for qualified candidates interested in opportunities in Systems Architecture with a US Government Client. Systems Architect duties include: Identify, analyze, and define system IT needs. Apply knowledge of enterprise IT needs to design improved processes, generate valid requirements, and ensure these are consistent with the enterprise technical architecture. Act as an advisor to IT system engineers and propose changes to the enterprise technical architecture based on analysis of requirements and new technology. Work with appropriate parties to resolve discrepancies between proposed IT systems and enterprise quality and security standards. Formulate and define the technical scope of activities aimed at improving IT support for overall enterprise business processes. Identify architectural and technology risks with the potential to impact Agency IT plans; develop goals and plans to mitigate risks. Define IT architecture issues and allocate requirements, define enterprise IT systems engineering processes. Promote standards to ensure system designs provide all interfaces required to become an integral part of the enterprise services infrastructure. Provide expert level guidance to project teams to ensure systems under development are compatible with existing Agency enterprise IT solutions. Participate in enterprise IT architecture efforts and recommend new directions based on information developed during IT program and business unit reviews. Develop and execute system engineering management processes. Identifies, analyzes, and develops solutions for information assurance issues relevant to infrastructure and INFOSEC policies and procedures, integrates security processes and architectures to address Agency security issues and concerns. Identify inter-segment problems for IT systems under development; coordinates and manage the resolution of problems. Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or four years of systems architecting or equivalent experience, preferable on Agency Systems Architecting Programs (ASAP) The System Architect will have Demonstrated experience on software development projects of similar scope and scale. This experience must be clearly delineated in proposals, including names of specific programs, whether they were Agency or non-Agency, the duration of time spent on the program, position, number of FTE, project budget, and the type of work accomplished (Note: Although Agency specific experience is not required, it is desired). Demonstrated communication skills and customer service experience are required. Experience in systems architecting and integration in a Microsoft SharePoint and .NET enterprise environment required. At least 4 years demonstrated experience with relational database design and development. Experience in documenting systems architecture plans. Demonstrated experience with software development and deployment on JWICS, the Agency Data Network (AND), and SIPRNet Desired: Demonstrated experience working with senior level customers and corporate management to achieve program goals are strong qualifiers. |
