| Nature & Scope The Data Architects role is to strategically design and implement data warehouses, data marts, and data stores, while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual is also responsible for defining data standards and models for warehouse architectures. The Data Architect will also evaluate and select all infrastructure components such as software, hardware, database management systems and networking capabilities. |
| Responsibilities Include Work with project managers, DBAs, application developers, QA, and LAN engineers to ensure that all necessary development and support infrastructure is in place to guarantee that new developments, enhancements, and emergency fixes all occur successfully. Set and implement best practices using state of the art development tools including IBM DataStage product suite, ERWin, CAST SQL Builder. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data integration processes using ETL. Responsible for scheduling and maintaining ETL jobs. Responsible for maintaining ETL project libraries. Responsible for database data integrity. Develop and maintain thorough business knowledge of source data in Enterprise Data Warehouse. Perform source target mapping in support of report and warehouse technical designs. Maintain a thorough understanding of data governance requirements and be able to translate them into specific controls and tests. Create and modify extract, transformation, and loan (ETL) routines to populate database environments. Coordinate with DBAs to ensure data dictionaries are maintained across multiple database environments. Compliance with SOX control policy for all phases of change management in the BI and ETL process. |
| Minimum Qualifications University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering and/or 5 years equivalent work experience. A minimum of: 5+ years working experience with IBM DataStage product suite, 5+ years working experience with SQL and Basic programming, 5+ years working experience with relational databases including logical and physical database design techniques. Knowledge of relational DBMS such as Sybase, MS SQL, and Oracle. Knwoledge of data source connectivity protocols such as ODBC, OLE DB and others.. Knowledge of data modeling using |
