Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Study and understand the data structure of legacy systems, map legacy to standard data structures, define the source data set and provide strategy for data extraction and translation.
  • Work with Data Warehouse team on defining data requirement for target data model
  • Address overall data quality in the warehouse, including the design of ETL strategies to source, match and merge from the various source systems
  • Troubleshoot data issues, validate result sets, recommend and implement process improvements, provide ad-hoc reports and analysis
  • Ensure the quality of the data warehouse data
  • Develop efficient extract, transform and load (ETL) processes, including workflows and jobs scheduling, to move data from source to target according to requirements
  • Write ETL specifications and mapping documents
  • Design, Develop and oversee the data transformations routines.
  • Apply Army logistic, acquisition, financial, and catalogue data standards and policies in the implementation of a data warehouse involving legacy and standard data
  • Define and deliver consistent ETL standards, methodologies, guidelines & techniques
  • Develop, document and perform system, integration, and user acceptance tests
  • Complies with Standard Department Practices
  • Interact and coordinate with customers, external data providers, and business team while designing internal and external data interfaces
  • Coordinate activities of team members and other database personnel to determine appropriate database deployment strategies and parameters, to ensure cost effectiveness and system efficiency
Required Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Defense Logistics Standard System (DLSS), Defense Logistics Management System (DLMS), Defense Logistic Information Service (DLIS), Financial Management Information Structure (SFIS), Army legacy financial, logistic, acquisition, and catalogue data.
  • Experience working with Army systems to include PBAS, CISIL, STANFINS, SOMARDS, ODS, GFEBS, LMP, DAASC
  • Experience in mapping legacy data
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Experience with Department of Defense Logistical, Financial and Acquisition systems and data
  • Ability to analyze source data for potential data quality issues
  • Ability to effectively communicate information, both verbally and written, to end users and various high level DoD personnel
  • Must be self-motivated and take initiative in performing tasks
  • Bacherlors Degree and or 12 years of data analyst experience
