GENERAL SUMMARY: Analyzes user needs and performs research and functional analysis on a variety of projects at the technical-expert level; serves as technical team or task lead; performs additional duties as assigned. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in design, development, implementation, & maintenance of commercial data management program. Primary responsibilities will center on data analysis in support of business data requirements definition, user acceptance testing and training activities. Will lead these activities & work closely with Data Architect and Data System Integration Developer to translate requirements into technical data specifications. Gather, validate and document data requirements down to the column level, in direct support of business requirements and priorities for specific data-driven application. Assist in translation of business data requirements into conceptual, logical, & physical data models. Create data maps to document data attributes, data sources & also data targets, including identification and documentation of data transformation algorithms as necessary. Assist in knowledge transfer to other technical staff members on business data processes. Assist in on-going evaluation of current & new business data requirements to achieve higher operational efficiencies & project portfolio alignment. Assist in integration of application data into existing enterprise financial systems Requires BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related degree. Requires 10-15 years experience with 5 years IT or equivalent experience including 3-5 years involvement in data warehousing projects. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Demonstrated experience with Oracle and/or MS SQ. Experience identifying & documenting business requirements in a data warehouse environment. Experience with master data management concepts and practices Experience with metadata management practices Experience in requirements gathering techniques. Working knowledge of data quality management principles and best practices Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Experience in development implementations, data modeling or data mapping efforts Experience in the use of industry architecture and modeling tools Knowledge of relational databases, data queries, and reports. Knowledge of data provisioning applying various methods including, Web Services, data views, etc. Design data layers with security in mind & provide input for security C&A of resulting data architecture. Provide input into the completion of the OMB 300 and OMB 53 for project funding Fully document the system data artifacts in accordance with the requirements of the enterprise. |
