Description
System Engineer provides technical expertise for the life cycle of
software systems or specialty engineering support of software systems.
Life cycle support includes: concept development, systems
specifications, systems analysis, baseline management, architecture
development, test specifications, product evaluations, feasibility
analyses, transition planning, modeling and simulation.
Responsibilities for this position are to Assess, categorize and assign
all incoming requirements. Complete technical investigations for all
requirements assigned to the requirements staff. Maintain enterprise
wide-solution for the total system or subsystem as defined by vetting
requirements from the customer. Must have a complete understanding of
technical principles when conducting Technical Exchange Meetings with
the customer and understand the various processes for the organization.
Must have a complete understanding of requirements definition and
tracking processes, component design/reuse, and store design and
baseline definition. Generate and track all requirement related work
orders as defined by the established processes and standards.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field) or equivalent and 10 to 12 years of related experience.(years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree). In-depth to comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts and techniques gained through extensive study and experience. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present approaches and findings. Able to implement information plans within a
project. Capable of administering and/or managing multiple activities and consult effectively with customers. Understands and applies methodologies, standards, and policies. Demonstrates the skill and ability to develop innovative solutions to moderate to complex problems. Performs highly complex to critical analysis. Identifies alternative solutions, performs key trade studies, and reviews designs. May develop and present white papers in solving major customer technical problems. Creates new methods and implements changes to procedures. Consults with
senior customers and attends planning meetings. Stays abreast of technical literature and reviews technical documents and report. Provides training, mentoring and guidance to more junior staff member.
US Citizenship and a current TS/SCI with full scope poly required.

ASSETS: Six Sigma Certification. Familiarity with Program Management Body of Knowledge (PMbok), Project Management Framework (PMF), Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
