University Facilities and Student Housing is seeking an experienced Control Room Operating Engineer to operate and monitor the boiler and associated equipment, from the control room and on the floor, to ensure all equipment is operating safely at different levels of service. The Control Room Operating Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of steam and chilled water to campus and hospital buildings.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A DC 1st Class Steam Engineer license
  • A high school diploma
  • Five years of experience in plant operations to include strong knowledge of high pressure steam and chilled water systems
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong listening skills
  • Knowledge of best practices and work standards
