This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SAN Engineer to join a Top-Tier Systems Integrator in one of the most technologically advanced parts of GDIT - the Army Infrastructure Sector. This is an opportunity to join a new program for a design, build and install a new building-wide telecommunications backbone to provide integrated voice, video and data communications over unclassified and classified DoD networks, supporting more than 6,000 users. This project delivers a campus-wide Consolidated Server room to provide server and storage services to more than 20 tenants with greater than 1,000 existing server. We are looking for an experienced individual with experience designing secure server configurations (hardware, operating systems, software, firmware, etc.) for 1,000 servers to be consolidated, virtualized, and migrated to a Consolidate Server Room (CSR). The storage requirements for these servers is approximately 200 Terabytes on multiple classification levels, with COOP/DR required to a remote region. Dark Archival storage is also required to perform backups. Experience with designing and implementing storage systems for a DoD customer is preferred. Experience includes the requirements gathering, system architecture, systems design, build, test and installation of storage area networks for the CSR. Requires a comprehensive knowledge storage architectures, connectivity, and COOP/DR. Applicants must have the ability to work autonomously or in a team environment and work closely with our Government client. BS/BA degree strongly desired. Requires 8-10 years experience. Prior experience with all or most of the following is desired: 1. Experience designing and implementing large (100TB +) storage solutions. 2. Designing, engineering, configuring, installing, testing, training, and documenting complex storage area network architectures and component configurations. 3. Participate in design and peer reviews. 4. Must be able to engineer, prototype, stage, assemble, integrate, install, test, document, and sustain a high available, tiered storage environment. 5. Analyze and transform operational and/or functional needs into solutions while remaining compliant with regulations, policies and procedures; document description of system parameters and integrate those parameters to optimize the overall solutions effectiveness and efficiency at task. 6. Prefer hands-on experience with EMC storage products, and EMC management software in a production environment. 7. Prefer experience with Dark Archival systems. 8. General IP Networking knowledge including layer 2 & 3 routing. 1. Understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). 2. DoD Secret security clearance. Top Secret preferred. Must be clearable to Top Secret with potential to Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). 3. Experience with DITSCAP/8500.2 IA controls desired. 4. Knowledge of STIGS and security controls for storage. 5. Experience with vulnerability assessment tools (Retina, Nemesis, Foundstone, ISS, or equivalent) is desired. 6. Candidates are required to have one of the following certifications within three months of hire: Network+, Security+, A+, CISSP, CISA, SCNP, GSEC, SSCP, SCNA, GSE 7. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certifications (both) strongly desired, or obtained within 6 months of employment. 8. May require one or more professional certifications, or certification within 6 months of employment: VCDX - VMware Certified Design Expert MCSE - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer MCSA - Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator MCITP - Microsoft Certified IT Professional MCTS - Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist IBM Certified System Expert - IBM BladeCenter V5 9.
