Job Summary:

The main function of this position is to analyze, design, develop, implement, test, monitor, maintain, support and document the MediCorp Health System (MHS) server and storage infrastructure.

The incumbent in this position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of MediCorp Health System and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public and co-workers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities (include percentage of time spent on each):



1. Participates in the development and maintenance of MHS equipment and architectural standards for enterprise servers and storage.

2. Participates in the development and maintenance of MHS Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) strategies.

3. Responsible for the design, configuration, test, maintenance and documentation of the MHS Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure; disk arrays, storage controllers, fabric switches, tape libraries, iSCSI, NAS and Fiber Channel connectivity.

4. Responsible for the design, configuration, test, maintenance and documentation of MHS physical and virtual servers; clustered and non-clustered environments.

5. Installation, configuration and management of MHS application and database servers including Microsoft Windows Server 200x operating systems, VMWare ESX Server, vSphere, Citrix XenServer and Altiris.

6. Prepares and maintains capacity plans associated with MHS data centers and distribution facilities; storage, network and power and HVAC environmental parameters.

7. Participates in the design, implementation and management of the MHS Active Directory (AD), Single-Sign- On/Identity & Access Management (SSO/IAM), Monitoring/ Management, Messaging, Security and Remote Access infrastructure.

8. Actively participates in the design and implementation of operational practices associated with server, storage and data center operations; incident, change, patch and release management.

9. Provides second-level engineering and technical support to the IS Service Desk and other IS Analysts. Process services requests and maintains current status using MHS service request process and tools; Altiris.

10. Conducts research as necessary in support of on-going operations, standards development or strategic planning. Prepares and delivers presentations, business cases and other deliverables as required.

11. Maintains an inventory of all MHS data center hardware and software.

12. Participates in project planning and delivery as required.

13. Interfaces with MHS vendors, business partners and users as necessary.

14. Coaching, mentoring Quality Assurance (QA) of work performed by junior staff.

15. Participates in MHS Disaster Recovery activities as required

16. Participates in 7x24 on-call as required.

17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Functions:



Qualifications:



1. BS CS/IS related + Min six (6) years relevant experience or thirteen (13) years technical experience

2. Minimum of six (6) years experience supporting multiple data center environments with EMC, IBM, HP, DELL, Hitachi or Network Appliance storage solutions required.

3. Working knowledge of storage technologies; RAID Arrays, Data De-duplication and Archiving required.

4. Experience with the following specific technologies required: EMC Clariion Storage Arrays, EMC Avamar, and Legatto Networker

5. EMC Storage Technologist (EMCST) certification preferred

6. EMC System Admin (EMCSA) certification preferred

7. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) preferred

8. Thorough understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, Domain Name Service (DNS) and Dynamic Host Communication Protocol (DHCP) preferred

9. Experience provisioning and administering Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange and/or Sharepoint environments preferred

10. Experience implementing and administering Email Encryption, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Network Access Control (NAC) and End Point Security solutions preferred

11. Experience with installing, administering and maintaining SQL databases preferred

12. Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project and Visio preferred

13. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

14. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred
