Mechanical/ Plumbing Engineer

Arlington, VA MEP firm is seeking Full and Part-time Mechanical and/or Plumbing Engineers with 3-5 years experience in commercial and institutional plumbing, mechanical and fire protection system design. Job Description:

Mechanical Engineer

Ideal Candidate would have 3-5 years experience in design and analysis of mechanical systems. Candidates shall be capable of assisting in the preparation of deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates related to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems for commercial and institutional facilities. The ability to handle projects from concept through to substantial completion while interacting with clients and guiding team members is also a must. Additionally, knowledge of current ICC Codes and ASHRAE Standards is needed.

Plumbing Engineer

Ideal Candidate would have 3-5 years experience in system design for plumbing and fire protection. Candidates shall be capable of assisting in the preparation of deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates related to domestic water supply and distribution, plumbing waste and vent design, storm drainage systems design, gas piping design, and fire protection design for commercial and institutional facilities. The ability to handle projects from concept through to substantial completion while interacting with clients and guiding team members is also a must. Knowledge of current ICC Codes and ASPE Fundamentals is needed.

Qualifications:

P.E. and/or CPD Certification

Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Proficient AutoCad Skills

Experience with LEED standards

Strong Communication Skills

3+ years Experience in working in MEP / A&E industry designing commercial and institutional plumbing systems and fire protection systems.

Working knowledge of Plumbing, Mechanical and Fire Protection Codes.
