DescriptionKey Role:
Develop and apply advanced mechanical engineering design methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced problems. Plan, conduct, and direct projects or major phases of significant projects and coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical support staff. Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods and organize means to achieve the solution of complex technical problems. Conduct investigations or tests of considerable complexity pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials, or processes and investigate possible applications of results. Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Recommend corrections in technical analysis and design. Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services and provide work leadership to junior employees.
QualificationBasic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with specifications writing and shop drawing review
-3 years of experience with HVAC and plumbing systems for buildings and chilled water and steam distribution for campus type facilities
-Experience with construction and project management
-Ability to travel within the US and abroad
-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required
-BS degree in ME
Additional Qualifications:
-Knowledge of the ASHRAE standards, international building, and pertinent NFPA publications related to mechanical systems
-Ability to prepare surveying and calculations
-Ability to design for new and existing building systems
-Ability to show registration as an Architect or Engineer a plus
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-MA or MS degree a plus
