JOB INFORMATION

Develop, modify, or update applications used by business units or infrastructure units. Collaborate with subject matter experts in those units to determine unit needs and business processes that are automated by the application. Participate in most or all of the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assess procedures and business processes in a financial management, accounting, transactional, or business operations unit for methods of automating them or improving existing applications supporting them.
  • Translate tax business processes to determine how into requirements for IT applications.
  • Participate in meetings with financial management, accounting, or product management staff and application developers and project managers to plan development or upgrades of applications connected to tax.
  • Participate in planning testing and acceptance of newly developed tax accounting applications.
  • May provide support to applications in production by tracking and troubleshooting problems and ensuring continued and efficient operation of application in production, and full access by its users.
  • Develop queries, analyses, or reports from financial management applications for operations or management staff of assigned business unit.
  • Analyze business requirements and technical specifications of applications in development to see how they can be developed into testable elements.
  • Conduct tests of applications in production or in development, applications about to be migrated, or applications recently patched.
  • Document test results, or compile results from tests conducted by others in standardized format. Report results to team management, application staff, and/or application owners.
  • Report problems by providing reproducible test cases, and working with team members to close problem reports. Conduct root cause analysis of identified defects, providing business partners with sufficient detail to understand, replicate and resolve.

Qualifications
EDUCATION

  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years of related experience


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS

o Strong SQL querying skills
o Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
o Knowledge of finance and accounting concepts and patterns
o Combination of MS Excel, MS Access, Business Objects, Hyperion Essbase and Oracle database skills
