JOB_DESCRIPTION: Perform analysis, integration and testing for development of active phased array radar and communications antennas and associated technologies for Naval surface, airborne and missile platforms. Duties: Work in a multi-disciplined environment to develop new technology and design approaches to enable lower cost and improved performance in next generation array radar antenna systems. Evaluate new technologies in packaging, thermal management and materials for applicability to phased array antennas. Develop and execute risk reduction tasks. Develop and validate environmental, mechanical and mobility requirements for next generation active array radars. Perform structural and thermal analysis to validate hardware compliance with shipboard induced and natural environments. Participate in Navy Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to evaluate contractor designs for ability to meet performance requirements. Brief findings and recommendations to contractors and sponsors. Work with sponsors, prime contractors, platform managers and shipyards to develop platform integration approaches. Develop concepts for ground mobile radar and communications systems. Work with RF & Systems engineers to perform requirements trades. Participate trade studies to recommend technical approaches to meet sponsor needs in advanced radars.
