Job Description
This position will oversee eChannel and GDS sales to achieve defined objectives and electronic sales goals in the UK and Ireland and Central Europe. This position will be located in either Marriott?s UK central office or Central Europe office.

The incumbent will ensure Marriott is competitive within eChannels and GDSs with emphasis on optimizing Marriotts performance and strategic position within Internet and electronic channels that directly drive or influence over billion in revenues to Marriott hotels. The eCommerce Account focus will have both a B2C and B2B element and strategically encompass revenue generation from and solutions development for the leisure and business transient segments. This individual will play a role in leading negotiations, business development, and execution. The incumbent will ensure planning integration and strategic alignment with key stakeholder groups including the regional leaders, Lodging and Intermediary Sales, Revenue Management, and other regional and headquarters staff. The position will have at least one (1) direct report and generally works with a significant amount of independence to execute against ongoing business requirements for the Global eChannel and GDS department specifically, as well as those of the broader eCommerce department.

Job Summary

Position is responsible for leading electronic sa les efforts for a high value account portfolio, comprised of strategic eCommerce business partners and online Internet travel businesses (electronic channels). Position will also actively seek out and evaluate new opportunity areas to drive incremental sales for Marriott Lodging. Primary scope of opportunity areas includes marketing, sales, products, and services. This position will work proactively across MI businesses and with assigned working groups to ensure success relative to electronic sales goals, and to determine viability of new opportunities. Position may have at least one direct report. Generally works with significant independence to determine and execute against ongoing requirements for key accounts under management and projects for the eCommerce department.

Provide leadership and direction to team-members, market-managers, hotels, and other stakeholders
Supports eChannel negotiation efforts including cross-functional business term development and execution
Participates in the assessment of new third party businesses, products, services and investment opportunities that support eCommerce strategic objectives.
Takes a team driven and consensus building approach to working with subject matter experts, department leads, and other manager(s) within MI to ensure successful execution
Provides direction and support, as needed, to assigned work groups and departments
Acts as internal eChannel consultant. Promotes knowledge and acts as a resource on eCommerce trends, and opportunities for owners, hotels, regions, and in industry forums
Works effectively with Executive/Senior levels of management to influence decisions

Manages larger business proc esses and/or projects, setting priorities and measurable objectives, monitoring and reporting on the process, progress and results.

Specific Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree required, Graduate degree strongly preferred, MBA desirable
Minimum of five years of relevant work experience
Examples of relevant work experience would be in the areas of partnership management and development, and/or Internet business development, product management, marketing, distribution, and sales
Ideal candidate will have experience with product management, as well as experience managing large national or international accounts
Ideal candidates will also demonstrate ability to take complex projects and efforts from conception to successful execution
Candidates must have a global perspective and be willing to travel
International work experience and multiple language skills a plus
