Argon ST is looking for an accountant who is looking to take the next step in their career. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller - Revenue, the Senior Accountant is a key team member responsible for working closely with the Assistant Controller in managing the daily operations of the Revenue and Billing Group. The position will require a professional who is strong technically, possesses good analytical skills, and demonstrates exceptional potential in leadership and team building.

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the Assistant Controller-Revenue in building a world class revenue function
• Contributing to a team that's taking performance to the next professional and operational level
• Performing as an individual contributor with some day-to-day supervision of a small staff of revenue/billing specialists
• Supervising contract invoicing and project set-up
• Preparing final contract close-out invoices
• Participating in proactive collection efforts
• Analyzing unbilled receivables
• Preparing key reports and tracking Revenue Group key performance indicators
• Coordinating with the Assistant Controller-Revenue and the treasury function to optimize working capital, specifically days sales outstanding and cash flow
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Supporting quarterly reviews and annual audits by an outside audit firm
• Performing other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• US citizenship is required for purposes of obtaining/maintaining a US government security clearance. A Secret clearance is required for this position.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 7 years of accounting and/or finance experience
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience

Other Requirements:

• Experience using Deltek/Costpoint or related financial databases
• Some technical expertise in SEC, GAAP, and/or SOX compliance
• Experience analyzing and implementing government contracting rules, regulations, and requirements
• Ability to work as an individual contributor and as a leader
• Ability to work with all levels of management and in team settings
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem resolution and consultative skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Ability to work as a "self-starter" in a environment that requires flexibility during demanding times of the year, such as when "quarter-end" tasks need to be completed.
