Mexico’s record-setting bridge to open this year
The country is scheduled to complete a $1.5 billion, 140-mile “superhighway” in the western Sierra Madre that will cut the drive between Durango and the Pacific port at Mazatlan to 4 1/2 hours. The project will consist of 62 tunnels and 135 bridges. The star is Baluarte Bicentennial Bridge, the highest in the Western Hemisphere. Read related article.
