Appeals of disqualified candidates rejected
Egypt’s presidential election commission on Tuesday upheld its weekend disqualification of the top two Islamist contenders and the country’s former spy chief. The commission is composed of judges appointed by ousted president Hosni Mubarak, raising questions about the fairness of the process. Final candidates will be announced April 26.
