Drought leads to famine in Somalia

Jul. 20, 2011 - The United Nations declared famine in parts of southern Somalia, signalling to donors the need for more aid. International aid agencies will not travel into Somalia due to the influence of Islamic insurgents affiliated with al Qaeda, leading many to flee the country.
