Enrique Peña Nieto wins Mexican election

The election was a clear vote of no confidence for President Felipe Calderon and his ruling National Action Party after 12 years in power.

Enrique Peña Nieto, the new face of the party that governed Mexico for seven decades, won Sunday's presidential election, according to first official results by the independent Federal Electoral Institute (IFE). Peña Nieto, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), had around 38 percent of the vote against around 31 percent for his nearest rival, Obrador, according to the early count.
