The Baluarte Bicentennial Bridge, the highest cable-stayed bridge in the world, is part of a “superhighway” uniting the northwestern states of Durango and Sinaloa. The bridge was built as part of Mexico’s elaborate bicentennial celebrations to mark its independence from Spain in 1810.
