Chelsea Wan, manager of the Jurong Frog Farm, shows off a large female North American bullfrog at the Jurong Frog Farm in Singapore. The Jurong Frog Farm started in 1981 and is Singapore's only frog farm. It has seen a huge boom in sales in the past year after developing the only fresh, locally made hashima, or snow jelly. Traditionally imported from China, hashima is made from the bullfrogs oviducts and is classed as one of the top five most-valued Chinese ingredients. It comes from the reproductive organs of the frog and is rich with collagen protein. It is said to help skin complexion, as well as strengthen the kidneys and lungs.
