Taiwan’s president wins reelection President Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan won reelection Saturday, cruising to a comfortable victory that should soothe Beijing.
Accompanied by his wife, Chow Mei-ching, Taiwan’s President Ma Ying-jeou declares victory in the presidential election in Taipei. Ma leveraged his message of greater prosperity through expanded ties with China to beat his populist-minded opponent, Tsai Ing-wen.
