Transtromer wins Nobel Prize in literature

Oct. 6, 2011 - Swedish poet Tomas Transtromer has won the 2011 Nobel Prize in literature. Peter Englund, permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy which awards the Nobel prizes, said "through condensed, translucent images, [Transtromer] gives us fresh access to reality."
