A female Yemeni protester burns veils during a demonstration demanding the resignation of Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in Sanaa. The burning of the veil was not related to women's rights or issues surrounding the Islamic veils — rather, the act of women burning their clothing is a symbolic Bedouin tribal gesture signifying an appeal for help to tribesmen, in this case to stop the attacks on protesters.
