The Pulitzer Prize is an American award regarded as the highest national honor in print journalism. Prizes are awarded yearly in twenty-one categories.
This is only the fourth time in history that a newspaper has won more than three of the 14 journalism prizes in a single year. The Washington Post did this once before in 2006.

Since 1996, the EPpy Awards have honored the best Web sites in the media world, including newspapers, TV-Cable, and magazines.
In 2006, washingtonpost.com's three awards were the most won by any single Web site in the competition. In 2007, we were only eligible to win one EPpy award. As stated on the EPpy Web site, "Perennial multiple-category EPpy Awards winners such as the Washington Post were limited to just one win in the 2007 competition."
