washingtonpost.com Streams Live Web cast of the NFL Draft

Six hour DraftCast will focus exclusively on the Washington Redskins

WASHINGTON—April 25, 2008—washingtonpost.com, an award-winning news and information Web site,  will stream live coverage of the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft this Saturday, April 26 from 2:30 pm until 8:00 pm ET. The coverage will focus primarily on the Washington Redskins, with expert analysis of draft picks and discussion of the team’s evolving strategy during the day.  

Hosted by Jon DeNunzio, washingtonpost.com’s Sports Editor, along with Washington Post NFL editors Cindy Boren and Gene Wang, the DraftCast will combine the unique perspectives of Post Redskins reporters Jason La Canfora and Jason Reid, NFL reporter Mark Maske and washingtonpost.com blogger Dan Steinberg. Former Redskins great and washingtonpost.com “Word on the Street” host Ken Harvey will also offer analysis, joining other Post reporters and draft experts from across the country.

“This Webcast provides Washington Redskins fans with a go-to place for the latest team news and information while they are following the NFL draft,” said Jim Brady, Executive Editor of washingtonpost.com. “Experts will break down the each draft selection by analyzing how the pick impacts the Redskins.”

washingtonpost.com will also offer up-to-the-minute draft news on the site, including frequent updates on the Redskins Insider and NFL Insider blogs. Users will also be able to submit questions during the DraftCast through email.

The DraftCast will begin at 2:30 pm ET on Saturday April 26, 2008 and is contingent upon the Redskins’ participation in the first round. A recap discussion will take place Saturday at 7 pm ET if the Redskins trade away their first pick.
