Caroline Little Named CEO and Publisher of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive

WASHINGTON - The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO) announced today that Caroline Little has become chief executive officer and publisher of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive. She had been chief operating officer of WPNI since 2000 and president since early 2003.

Little, 44, joined WPNI as general counsel in 1997. She became senior vice president/administration and general counsel in 1999. Before joining The Washington Post Company, Little was deputy general counsel of U.S. News & World Report, The Atlantic Monthly, and Fast Company.

"Caroline has what it takes to run any company - brains, principles, decisiveness, and good business judgment," said Donald E. Graham, chairman of The Washington Post Company.

Little graduated from Wesleyan University in 1981 with a BA in English, Phi Beta Kappa, and received a JD with honors from New York University School of Law in 1986. She serves on the Board of Governors of the DC Bar and is a member of the board of Food & Friends and WEAVE (Women Empowered Against Violence). Little is a trustee of Grinnell College.

Little and her husband, Dan Burton, live in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with their two daughters.
