Additional Speakers Announced For Slate 60 Conference
Bloomberg, Case, Rockefeller, Shriver Join Clinton, Turner and Gates, Sr. as Presenters
(Arlington, VA, Oct. 6, 2006) — Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI) today announced that leading philanthropists Steve Case, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Bobby Shriver, Justin Rockefeller, and Mario Morino have joined President William J. Clinton, Ted Turner, and William Gates, Sr., as featured speakers at the Slate 60 Conference on Innovative Philanthropy.

at the Clinton Library in
Mayor Michael Bloomberg is a leading philanthropist and recently announced a donation of $125 million to combat smoking around the world.
Steve Case is the co-founder
of America Online (AOL) and Chairman and founder, with Jean Case, of the Case
Foundation. Jean Case and First Lady Laura Bush recently announced a partnership
between the Case Foundation and the
Justin Rockefeller co-founded the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, Generation Engage, a grassroots campaign to promote civic engagement among young Americans.
Bobby Shriver is CEO of
Product RED. He and musician Bono recently launched RED, an economic initiative
to deliver a sustainable flow of private sector money to combat AIDS. Product
RED partners with well-established companies to create special RED brands. A
portion of profits from those brands supports AIDS programs in
Mario Morino is chairman and co-founder of Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP) and chairman of the Morino Institute. VPP focuses on innovative philanthropy to benefit children and families of working poor or poverty backgrounds.
The Slate 60 Conference on Innovative Philanthropy is co-sponsored by Slate, the William J. Clinton Foundation, and the Clinton School of Public Service.
