Dr. Magassy received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska. He trained in General Surgery at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Following his residency completion in General Surgery, he received his Plastic Surgery training at the University of California in San Francisco. He is affiliated with numerous hospitals in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC and has teaching appointments at Georgetown University and George Washington University. He holds a current medical license for Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC.
Dr. Magassy is Board Certified in General Surgery and received his "Board Certification" by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons in 1973. This makes him among the elite 4,000 or so Doctors (worldwide) who are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Magassy has been in practice since 1972 and is one of the Washington area's best-known and most highly regarded plastic surgeons. His renowned practice offers friendly confidential care in plastic surgery, skin care and ancillary services and attracts patients worldwide. Dr. Magassy is the medical director of Plastic Surgery Associates, PC - his own fully accredited outpatient ambulatory surgery facility. Plastic Surgery Associates, PC is a state of the art fully equipped four operating room ambulatory surgery center consisting of two major operating suites and two minor. It is professionally staffed with Registered Nurses and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. PSA occupies the second and third floor of the Magassy building in McLean, Virginia. Dr. Magassy has written and spoken extensively on cosmetic plastic surgery topics - including presentations on facelifts, brow lifts, eyelids, breasts, tummy-tucks, liposuction, rhinoplasty, laser resurfacing, and endoscopic surgery. He has contributed numerous articles on plastic surgery to medical and surgical literature and has presented them at worldwide symposiums and conferences. Dr. Magassy is still actively involved in teaching and medical education.
