. . . discovered the history of life along the coast. The Calvert Marine Museum explores the natural and man-made forces that have shaped life along the Patuxent River. From the 8 million-year-old fossilized whale skull to the playful river otters to the maritime displays, this nonprofit museum has something for the entire family.

The Calvert Marine Museum is off Route 2 near the base of the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomons and is accessible by Back Creek, off the Patuxent.
