Maurice Clarett, the former Ohio State star running back who led his team to the 2002 national championship and then lost a court battle to get into the draft after his freshman season, went to the Denver Broncos with a third-round compensatory pick, the 101st overall. The selection is particularly compelling considering the Broncos have had five running backs -- Terrell Davis, Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Clinton Portis and Reuben Droughns -- rush for at least 1,000 yards since 1998.
