Community groups and more than 15 D.C. government agencies staged a signup fair Saturday at Benning Terrace on G Street SE for residents of Kenilworth, Parkside, Eastland Gardens, Mayfair and Paradise Manor. Residents could register for job and summer recreation programs, free health insurance, dental checkups, general equivalency diploma programs, substance abuse programs, food stamps, first-time homebuyer programs and counseling and mentoring programs.
