The Orioles have served us fine

But something wasn't right:

We work hard in the daily grind,

So why commute at night?

I hope it doesn't make me sound

Closed-minded, rude or bitter,

But baseball wasn't baseball

With the designated hitter.

No congressman, no Senators,

We haven't had a choice,

But now it's time to stand and cheer --
