Virginia Tech at Virginia

When: Noon. Where: University Hall, Charlottesville. Records: Hokies 12-9, 5-5 ACC; Cavaliers 12-9, 3-7. TV: WDCA-20, WNUV-54. Radio: WTNT-570.

Stop the bleeding: After two straight conference losses, the Hokies need a victory to put themselves back in good position for a postseason berth. It would also provide some momentum entering Thursday night's home game against Duke. The Hokies feature four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by sophomore guard Zabian Dowdell (15.0).

Trying for the trifecta: Emerging from the conference cellar, the Cavaliers have won two straight ACC games for the first time, both in the final seconds. The key in Wednesday's triumph over Florida State was defense; Virginia held the Seminoles to 24 points on 33.3 shooting in the second half. Senior Elton Brown, coming off the bench for the second straight game, finished with 13 points and six rebounds.
