I currently have tickets on a future US Airways flight. Is my trip likely to be canceled?

The airline says there will be no disruption in service while in Chapter 11 proceedings. Chief executive Bruce R. Lakefield said in an interview, "Our intention is to be the major carrier in the cities where we operate today and not to have any disruption in those cities." On usairways.com, the company writes that it plans no changes in its ticketing policies, with all refunds and exchanges made as usual. US Airways also says that existing partnerships with other airlines remain in place and service will continue without interruption.

What about my frequent flier miles?

US Airways says it will continue to accept frequent flier miles and other rewards for regular fliers. The airline has received permission from a judge to honor all key agreements related to its Dividend Miles program and the co-branded Bank of America/Dividend Miles credit card. The airline also says its US Airways Club network will continue to operate without interruption for its members.

How long will it be safe to book tickets on US Airways?

Analyst Ray Neidl of Calyon Securities says that the carrier has to get new labor agreements with its workers within three to six months or it will not be able to emerge from bankruptcy protection. At that point, the company would likely liquidate, which would affect service.
