Kevin Bettencourt scored 20 points to lead Bucknell to a 65-52 victory over American last night in Lewisburg, Pa.
Bettencourt was 5 of 6 on three-pointers as Bucknell won its 12th straight Patriot League home game.
Charles Lee added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bison (16-7, 7-3), who lost to American (13-9, 6-4) earlier in the season.
Bucknell was 10 of 19 from three-point range while holding American to its second-lowest point total this season. American's Andre Ingram, the Patriot League scoring leader (15.9 ppg), was held to five points.
Bucknell jumped to a 7-0 lead and never trailed, entering halftime up 35-22.
The Bison went four minutes without a field goal in the second half but the Eagles only outscored them 5-2 over that span. John Griffin's three-pointer and a jumper by John Clark sparked an 8-0 run that put Bucknell ahead 49-30.
COLGATE 72, NAVY 67: Kyle Roemer scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half to lead the Raiders at home. Jon Simon had 14 points, and Andrew Zidar added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Raiders (10-13, 5-5 Patriot League).
Colgate trailed the Midshipmen, 38-30, at halftime. Down 57-53 with 8 minutes 37 seconds remaining, the Raiders scored seven straight points to go up 60-57. Navy (7-16, 3-7) narrowed it to 68-67 with 1:06 left, but Zidar made a field goal and added two free throws to seal the victory.
Greg Sprink led the Midshipmen with 16 points and Laramie Mergerson tallied 13.
