BAYSOX CAMPS: The Bowie Baysox, the Class AA minor league affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, will be hosting two baseball camps for ages 7-14. Both sessions will be hosted at Prince George's Stadium with Baysox coaches and players instructing the campers on Bowie's field. Campers will get autographs from the Baysox and a complimentary box seat to see Bowie play. Session One will be held July 18-20 (from 9 a.m. to noon). FAIRFAX LITTLE LEAGUE: On-site registration for the Spring 2005 season of Fairfax Little League will be conducted this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bonnie Brae Elementary School in Burke and at Fairfax High School in Fairfax. On-line registration is active and available at eteamz.active.com/fairfaxll/. Fairfax Little League offers multiple levels of play at various skill levels for children ages 5-16 (Tee Ball: 5-7; A-machine pitch: 7-8; AA and AAA: 9-11; Majors: 10-12; Juniors: 13-14; Seniors: 15-16). Preseason player evaluations are conducted at the AA level and above to ensure children are playing at appropriate skill levels. Parents should bring proof of current residence and the child's birth certificate for age verification purposes.
SOUTH COUNTY HAWKS: The South County Hawks will hold tryouts for spring '05 open roster positions on all teams (U-10 through U-15) on Sunday from 5-6 p.m. at Key Middle School in Springfield. The Hawks are USSSA- and NVTBL-affiliated select travel teams under the program direction of professional baseball coach Mike Grasso. The team has adopted county fields in Lorton for games and practices. Indoor winter training programs are available for team and non-team players at all levels, and spring developmental programs are available for children ages 5-9. MDDL REGISTRATION: Registration is now underway for Mason District Little League boys' and girls' baseball (ages 5 - 12) and girls' softball (ages 8 - 12) spring teams.
