Stonewall Jackson forward Derick Johnson is starting to deserve more attention.

Granted, it's hard to get noticed coming off a season in which Johnson was one of four freshman starting on a team that won just once in 23 games.

"He's been kind of doing it in obscurity," Stonewall Jackson Coach Marcus Lawrence said of Johnson, who also pulled down 15 rebounds. "When you're 1-22, not too many people pay attention."

The Raiders are 4-9 after splitting their last four games at home. The Bruins dropped to 7-6.

Episcopal Wins

Episcopal senior point guard Ryan Woodlee made a three-pointer with 42 seconds left in overtime to lift the Maroon to a 48-46 victory over visiting Georgetown Prep in an Interstate Athletic Conference game in Alexandria.

Senior center Arinze Onuaku, a Syracuse recruit, dunked home the game's first four points and finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, including a block of Prep's final shot attempt with two seconds left in the extra period. Episcopal improved to 4-4, 1-0; Prep fell to 6-10, 1-2. . . .

Junior guard Tariq Uqdah scored six of his eight points in the fourth quarter, including a free throw with one second left, as DuVal defeated host Bladensburg for its first win of the season, 50-47. Junior forward Kevin Ford Jr. (12 points) made two first-quarter three-pointers and finished with 12 points for DuVal (1-8, 1-8 Prince George's 3A/2A).

Madison Falls

The 18th-ranked W.T. Woodson girls held visiting Madison to five points in the second half, claiming a 50-34 victory in a Virginia AAA Liberty District game in Fairfax.

After trailing 29-22 at halftime, W.T. Woodson (11-2, 5-0) switched from a zone to a tight man-to-man defense, and outscored Madison 28-5 in the second half.

Junior guard Christy Cushnie, who scored 13 points during the first half, was held to one point during the second half by Woodson junior guard Casi Donelan. Senior guard A.J. Lemaitre helped lead Woodson to victory with 21 points, and senior point guard Ashley McCulloch had 10 assists.

Madison fell to 7-6, 3-2. . . .

Langley senior forward Farrah Goal grabbed her 400th career rebound in the Saxons' 60-38 victory over visiting McLean in a Liberty District game.

With less then a minute left in the second quarter, Goal had an offensive rebound and a putback, bringing her to 95 rebounds -- 31 offensive and 64 defensive -- in 13 games for the Saxons (10-3, 3-2). Goal had 108 rebounds as a junior and 197 as a sophomore, averaging 7.3 per game this year and 6.5 for her career.

McLean fell to 2-6, 0-4.
