Cal Ripken will give some major league clout to XM Satellite Radio, which today will launch the nation's first 24-hour radio channel devoted exclusively to major league baseball.

The former Orioles great, who holds the record for consecutive games played, will host a weekly show on MLB Home Plate starting in March. Joining him will be his brother, former infielder Billy Ripken.

"Our show is going to be a terrific program for baseball fans of all ages," Cal Ripken said.

The Ripkens are part of a lineup of on-air hosts that will include former reliever Rob Dibble and former managers Kevin Kennedy, Larry Bowa and Buck Martinez.

The channel will feature news, listener call-ins, interviews and rebroadcasts of classic games.

XM is the leading provider of live sports in satellite radio with more than 3.2 million subscribers.
