Airport Update
Sunday, August 1, 2004; Page P02
LaGuardia, JFK and Newark, the three airports serving New York City, anticipate no convention-related delays in service during the Republican Convention, to be held in Manhattan Aug. 30-Sept. 2. But following rerouting guidelines set by the New York Police Department, New York Airport Service, a shuttle service to LaGuardia and JFK, will change its Penn Station pick-up/drop-off point to the Red Roof Inn at 32nd Street between Fifth Avenue and Broadway . . . Free high-speed Internet access is now available at 200 computer stations in Terminals 1 and 2 at Singapore's Changi . . . For about $18, snacks, a shower and up to five hours of Zen-like repose (in a non-reclining chair) can be had at the Plaza Premium Arrivals Lounge at Level Two of Vancouver International. The lounge also offers a pay-per-use pressing service, business center and library. The Departures Lounge includes "private resting suites" with recliners in its $22 fee.
