New Projects
Construction is slated to begin this year on about 30 projects, including:
Centreville Road (Route 28), widen a four-lane section from Metrotech Drive to McLearen Road. The completion goal is winter 2007.

Work on the new Woodrow Wilson Bridge, shown in Alexandria, is on schedule and under budget.

West Ox Road, widen a four-lane section from Penderbrook Drive to Ox Trail. Completion target: fall 2006.
Route 50 at Waples Mill Road, intersection improvements. Completion target: summer 2006.
Spring Hill Road, widen a four-lane section from Route 7 to International Drive. Completion target: winter 2006.
Richmond Highway (Route 1) at Engleside Post Office, add a northbound turn lane. Completion target: winter 2006.
Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) at Glen Carlyn Road, extending eastbound left turn lane on Route 7. Completion target: winter 2005.
Route 50 at Annandale Road, intersection improvements. Completion target: fall 2005.
In addition, preliminary design of the first phase of the Dulles rail extension between West Falls Church and Wiehle Avenue, from Tysons Corner to Wiehle Avenue, is set to begin this year, with a completion target of early 2006.
Completed Projects
Among projects completed in 2004 were the following:
Ox Road (Route 123), widen to four lanes from Davis Drive to Lee Chapel Road and from Lee Chapel Road to Burke Lake Road.
Centreville Road (Route 28), interchange at Barnsfield Road.
Beulah Street, widen to four lanes from Franconia Road to Franconia-Springfield Parkway.
Springfield interchange, Phases IV and V.
