Crape Myrtle (variety Muskogee)
Botanic name: Lagerstroemia "Muskogee."
Flowers: Light lavender, midsummer.
Size: To 25 feet.
Form: Tall, spreading.
Needs: Full sunlight and well-drained soil. Shade will greatly diminish flowering.
Comments: Smaller than another popular tree type called Natchez. Needs artful shaping to show off its stunning, smooth bark.
