AND THE STRUDEL WAS HUNG BY THE CHIMNEY WITH CARE. Prepare for the holidays, Teutonic style, at Christkindlmarkt in Historic Bethlehem, Pa. May all your bratwurst cravings, perfect-wreath requirements and Scherenschnitte needs (that would be ornamental paper cuttings) be satisfied today (and Dec. 8-12 and 15-19) to the sound of brass bands and the Bethlehem Carolers. The town also plays up its yuletide ties with candlelit tours.

Wednesday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. $6. Three hours from the Beltway in Historic Bethlehem, Pa. 610-332-1300, www.fest.org. Bethlehem Visitors Center, 610-868-1513, www.bethlehem.info.
