Unhappy Dulles Travelers

Dulles International Airport was ranked the third-worst medium-size airport worldwide in terms of passenger satisfaction in a recent study by J.D. Power and Associates. One factor contributing to the poor rating was the wait at security checkpoints.

The study was based on responses from 9,000 passengers who flew between October 2003 and last month. It ranked Reagan National Airport 15th and Baltimore-Washington International Airport 20th out of 34 airports in the medium category, defined as those that serve 10 million to fewer than 30 million passengers a year.

Coffee, Tea Shop Opens

Baltimore Coffee and Tea has opened at BWI near the escalators by the entrance to Concourse D.

Airlines End Service

Aer Lingus said it would not resume service from BWI to Ireland. Flights to Shannon International Airport, with continuing service to Dublin, were suspended this month.

US Airways, meanwhile, said it will end its daily round-trip flight between National and Salisbury on Feb. 4.

New Flights

Independence Air will begin three daily round-trip flights between Dulles and Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers on Feb. 17.
